It's the New Year. Time to shed our holiday coats and get back at it. Essex is depending on us!

We have several enlightened speakers lined up to get our brain juices flowing again, including Kieran Lal of Drupal, http://drupal.org/ . Drupal stands out in the Open Source world, both because of its diversity of participants and its success everywhere from small business to the White House, http://www.whitehouse.gov/. Kieran has been very involved for much of this journey -- remember CivicSpace! -- more recently in balancing his open source participation with his leadership position at the enterprise Drupal company, Acquia, http://www.acquia.com/.

6:30pm Food, Drink, & Networking

7:15pm Jesse Andrews, founder of OpenStack, "Intro to OpenStack"

7:25pm Kieran Lal, Acquia’s Technical Director of Business Development, on "Moving 200 Music Artists to the Cloud". Kieran will share with us Drupal and the Cloud unseating a proprietary SaaS solution. He will talk about the ten year ascent of the Drupal community, and how meeting industry needs, in this case the entertainment industry, improve the Open Source ecosystem.

8:10-8:20pm Intermission

8:20pm Paul Lappas, Piston Cloud, and Andre Pech of Arista Networks on “Hands-free OpenStack scale-out with pentOS and the Arista 7124T”

8:55pm Jesse Andrews, Director of Development for Rackspace Cloud Builders, on "Multi-node Devstack using LXC"

Sorry, it seems I was replying to the sidebar comments -- bad meetup.com UI on the iPhone app.

Dallas> I think it could work fine with one less speaker.

That's good feedback. I was thinking the same thing this morning. We'll adjust the format for next month's SF event, which we'll announce next week.

met some great people; the pitch and pace of some of the talks was choppy, but overall an informative and enjoyable evening.

Nice event. For future events, would love to see more openstack in-depth discussions. Also would've loved to see participation from active stack contributors (for eg.. somebody contributing to quantum and what's coming up).

Pay attention to what Kieran was saying - community can really help OS kick ass! I recommend browsing http://groups.drupal.org/frontp... and getting a feel for how people come together to build and grow Drupal.

Thank you everyone for making it out tonight! It's really you that made it such a great event! If you have any feedback, questions, comments, or need help connecting with anyone that was at the event hit me an email at [masked] . Thanks again, and see you soon at another event!

Can't wait to see everyone tonight!

After reviewing profiles, based on the significant number of people that might be new to OpenStack we've added an intro to the top of the program given by Jesse Andrews.

Parking: There are two lots at the corner of Second & Harrison he hear are reasonably priced & have special rates ($10?) for the evening. There's also a lot of street parking that's free after 6, but that's can be a game of hide and seek. Avoid the nearby lots on Mission as they pricey!
