Workshop: Websites with Python Flask

Details
Ever wanted to learn how websites work or wanted to build one yourself? Or maybe you have played around with some HTML but wonder how to get it to actually do something? Now is the time to start with our Websites with Python Flask (http://opentechschool.github.io/python-flask/) workshop. We’ll take you through creating a basic interactive website using Flask (http://flask.pocoo.org/), a very popular choice for websites created using the Python programming language.
To make the most out of this workshop, you should already have a very basic understanding of Python, such as from our Introduction to programming with Python (http://opentechschool.github.io/python-beginners/en/index.html) tutorial. If haven't done this yet, you can also come and work through that workshop instead.
The learning materials are quite substantial for an evening session, so you might not finish all the exercises. But this is not a problem at all because you can go on at our new Continuous Python Learning Group (https://www.meetup.com/opentechschool-berlin/events/dwwbjgyrmbmb/) where coaches will be around to help.
You will only need to bring your own laptop with a recent version of Python (2.6, 2.7 or 3.3+) installed. If you have a recent Mac or Linux, it is pre-installed, so you are covered. If you are running Windows and need help setting up Python, please let the organizers know in advance.
RSVP opens three weeks in advance on Tuesday, August 6th, 2013 at 6:30pm. Because the number of seats is limited, it is important that you only sign up if you definitely plan on coming (and do so, too!). If you can't make it for any reason, please cancel your attendance on Meetup right away so someone on the waiting list can take your place. Thanks!
