Please join us for Python for beginners using Python and Turtle, followed by more workshops with other themes and exercises (to be announced soon.) This workshop is a 4-hour, at-your-own-pace introduction to programming. It teaches you about basic programming concepts and abstractions. You will need to bring your own laptop in order to participate. The space is right at the ground level (the Colab café) and wheelchair accessible.
Not sure if you have everything set up properly? We will be holding an optional installation party on the Friday before the workshop to get everything set up for the following day. Join us at Colab at 7.30pm for a systems check or a beer. (This is optional and in addition to the workshop.)
Our workshops are hands-on and at your own pace, suitable for men and women alike. We provide material with a lot of exercises which has gone through numerous iterations of feedback. Coaches stand by the sidelines to help with any problems learners might encounter. All coaches are volunteers, participation is free of charge. The material is more or less an introduction to basic programming concepts. It is available in English; coaches speak a mix of languages.
Because the number of seats is limited, it is important that you only sign up if you definitely plan on coming (and do so, too!). If you can't make it for any reason, please cancel your attendance on Meetup right away so your someone on the waiting list can take your place. Thanks!
Coaches please be there an hour early (11.30am) so we can discuss last details. You should also have a look at the material in advance.
