The Public Servant - A night at the theatre
Details
I'm happy to announce that I've been able to workout a group rate for members of the Open Toronto Meetup Group to attend The Public Servant (http://www.nightwoodtheatre.net/index.php/whats_on/the_public_servant) at the Berkeley Theatre on March 31, 2016.
The Public Servant is a comic-tragedy about women and administration. Step inside the halls of power as Madge, a young, idealistic and enthusiastic civil servant, gets ready to write her first official memo.
Based on the interviews of some twenty civil servants who shared harrowing tales of navigating the fuzzy divide between individual need and public good, The Public Servant reveals a journey of heroic dedication and professional betrayal, of overcoming cutbacks, bad managers and incompetent ministers. And how in the end, the demands of accountability and transparency seem to defeat even the best bureaucratic soldiers.
As part of our arrangements, the group will be privy to a "talk-back" with the creators and cast following the performance. Think of it as a live director's commentary and behind-the-scenes look at the production.
There's just one caveat. You have to CALL IN YOUR RESERVATION, mention you're with the Open Toronto Meetup Group and provide them with the promo code: Open Toronto.
Tickets are normally $35 but we've been given a 20% discount bringing down the price to $28. We've been given a block of 20 seats, so register quickly to take advantage of this extraordinarily appropriate play!
