About Rajeev Nagar
Rajeev Nagar oversees the Datacenter Networking & Platform team in the
Operating Systems Group at Microsoft, responsible for infrastructural networking & connectivity technologies for Microsoft operating system platforms, devices, and services (Datacenter/Cloud). Past responsibilities have included strategic, business, & technological leadership for storage, clustering, and high-availability solutions within Microsoft Windows. Prior to Microsoft, Rajeev was founding-CEO and CTO of Kuokoa Networks, Inc., focused on storage networking solutions for enterprises, and founder/CEO of NTCS, Inc., delivering file-systems, storage, and security solutions for Windows based deployments. Rajeev has also held technical leadership positions with Hewlett-Packard, and Transarc Co. (IBM). Rajeev’s credits include multiple patents and publications, including a book on developing file systems. Rajeev holds a BE in Computer Engineering, MS in Computer Sc. (UCF), and a MBA (UC, Berkeley).
About Ravi Rao
Ravi Rao is a Principal Program Manager Lead on datacenter networking at Microsoft. In his role, he contributes to the overall Software Defined Networking strategy, including technologies such as the virtual switch, network virtualization, hardware accelerations and the TCP/IP stack. Previously, he worked on peer to peer protocols, WAN optimization solutions and networking APIs. Ravi has more than 20 awarded patents. He graduated with an MS in Computer Science from Michigan State University specializing in distributed systems.
Synopsis
MSFT operates very large datacenters worldwide. Lessons learnt from these large-scale deployments are delivered through Windows Server 2012 R2 and System Center 2012 R2, for private and hybrid cloud deployments.
