You might be a Django professional or just curious .. nevertheless you are hereby invited to hear more at an evening of lighting talks.

Never heard of a lighting talk? Here is what some knowledgable blokes over at plover.com has to say on the matter and you can find additional information at Wiki on lighting talksIf you are wondering how to prepare and conduct a lighting talk have a look at the description on perl.com.

We would love for you to share your experience in a lighting talk so please submit suggestions below. Don't know what to talk about? Here are some suggestions:

* An installable app you use all the time
* An app you would like to use but has yet to find a project for
* Special insights on using the Django ORM
* Successful project usind Django
* Failed project using Django (as if that is even possible)
* Client-side libraries especially compatible with Django

Someone (possibly you?) mentioned another (not Python/Django-specific, but still useful) book about testing, but I didn't quite get the title. Could this be it? Growing Object-Oriented Software Guided by Tests: http://www.growing-ob...

Yes, that's it. It's a very good book, not only about testing, but also object oriented design.

We have to date only 3-4 lighting talks. Need more speakers. If you have a topic .. be it a presentation about how you use Django today in your company/project, a favorite python library that is not limited to Django .. you are more than welcome to present.

All presentations with visuals should be made using http://prezi.com/ (Free if public) so that we don't have to suffer through the powerpoint slides =) .. though, visuals are not required.

Great. Other web tools are ok. We just try to break up the monotony of powerpoint slides =) Please provide me with a link to the presentation sometime before 12.00 on 21. so I get a chance to test it on the big screens at Django Bar.

I could also do one about how I do one-click remote deployment with git, south and fabric, if anyone is interested. Please let me know if you would like to see one or both of these ideas. Also, I would be interested to see a talk about end-to-end testing with Django, if anyone has tried that.

Both of these sounds good. I am doing two myself so please go ahead. We have time for double.

Looking forward to this. Wanted to meet other people interested in Django.

I made a custom Continuous Integration / Quality Assurance kind of system at work using Django. I could do a talk about how Django made it possible to do this in an organization that normally doesn't do web and is under constant time pressure. Does that sound interesting?

For the lightning talkers .. remember that we have multiple nationalities attending so preferably the talk should be in english.

I would be happy to give a lightening talk Tommy. I am a Oslo based entrepreneur currently starting up a lean web app for the hedge fund industry. I am by no means a developer so my chat will be more focused on the advantages of running lean. Why am I coming? my confounder is building this in python on django, i figured comng along would be a good start to understanding more about python and django, as well as its benefits. we are also looking to grow our team, so i look forward to meeting more python enthusiasts!

Great. You are welcome. If you have any visuals let me know in advance on the 21. so that we can test it on the big screens during tech setup.

Hi Robert, we will do. We just need to finalize a few details first and then we will update the event. If you want to come with suggestions we are open for that.
