OpenStreetMap and You (An Introduction to OpenStreetMap)

Details
A good event for experienced and newbie mappers alike, there will be a spiffy presentation by Serge Wroclawski who brings experience from the Washington DC OSM meetup group. He will provide an engaging overview of Open Street Map and how this "wikipedia of maps" is used by bikers, travelers, accessibility advocates, business owners, map geeks, and folks like you.
We will have a round of introductions to get started. We are hoping that by the end of the meetup people will have set up their usernames and have an understanding of the basic editing features. More technical topics will be held in the future likely in coordination with the NYC GIS and Cartography Meetup. At the end of the Meetup some may adjourn for refreshments at a venue nearby.
Broadly, we are hoping to bring the long-standing New York City OSM community together and jump start it into a more active phase.
