First Beginners Meetup!

Details

This is the first meetup aimed at beginners learning to code and develop software. The format will be:

Scheduled talks (~20mins each)

Why I Code - by Paul Nelligan who is, amongst other things, the sole founder AND developer for audiofu.com (http://audiofu.com/), an organizer of Berlin Skills Exchange ( https://www.meetup.com/Berlin-Skills-Exchange/ and the person who built the official Google Chrome App for Euro 2012! He is also working on side projects and does contracting.

Behind the Scenes of a Web Request - by Duana Stanley who works as a Backend Engineer at SoundCloud after moving from Australia where she worked for some years as a Software Engineer doing Java in small and large organisations. She hacks with ruby/rails and javascript for fun side projects.

Learn-n-Tell

Inspired from Berlin's wonderful Hack-n-Tell (https://www.meetup.com/berlin-hack-and-tell) session, this is a chance for you to share with others what you have learnt, what code you have written, some questions you have (there are no stupid questions!) or something you are stuck on. You don't have to prepare - all you need is 5 minutes! So bring your laptop - who knows - maybe there is something you have learnt that is really helpful for others.
