.NET / SharePoint development in the cloud using CloudShare and TFS

  • Nov 7, 2013 · 5:45 PM
  • Ottawa Microsoft Office

Cloud-based developer environments are a hot topic these days. Why bother hosting, managing and licensing dev project VMs and software yourself when they are often only required for a few months. Explore the possibilities with CloudShare for your .NET / SharePoint development environment and Team Foundation Service for your TFS infrastructure.

CloudShare is offering a door prize for this event: a free one (1)year subscription for an 8GB environment. Be sure to attend for your chance to win.

This was my first OITC Meetup event. Interesting topic. Gives me some ideas for comparing SharePoint server version features and troubleshooting. John is an engaging and knowledgeable presenter who took time to answer questions and demonstrate examples in response. Thanks to P for bringing in the sustenance. You're a Good Egg. One beef: There were NOT 33 people present though. People, if you're going to RSVP to a Meetup event then please show up, won't you - or at least change your status.

If you were at last month's presentation on Windows Azure for Dev/Test be sure to attend this month's presentation on CloudShare so you can compare and contrast the two offerings. Each has its strengths.

Are you bringing your own access point? If not, check with JR or Joel if you can connect to the MS network.

Thanks Ahmed, will do, in September I was able to use an MS guest wifi network, I'll check if that is available for OITC events too.
