Outdoor & Snow Lovers (OSL) News & Updates

Greetings OSLer's,

Please see the email below from one of our sponsors. I have been wearing my thermal shirt to outings and it's very comfortable. Because I have long arms it's a relief to find something that is long enough for me. I really, really like what I got! The thermal I'd gotten, The ODEE Compass (Scarlet - 10-OD-TF1-SC) has been reduced in price to $19.95. That's the price for men's and women's.  The cotton in the T-Shirts is top quality, heavy and soft. Other than the sleeves, the thermals do seem to run a bit small, so you may want to order one size larger than normal.

I will be sending in another order on Wednesday of this week if anyone wants to combine, but from the email below it looks like you'll get FREE shipping. I plan on getting the Wind & Snow Thermal (10-OG-TF2-GY) and the price has been reduced to $19.95. Lee Ann says she just loves the snowflakes on one of the sleeves.

Don't forget to use the discount code at checkout, as there may be another 30% off on the items. That code is OSL330. The sponsorship and offers end 12/24/10.

Thanks everyone who made donations to the Salvation Army families we adopted this holiday season, and for the food shelf donations. Know that your efforts, generosity and compassion toward others is greatly appreciated.

Happy Holidays All!

The OSL Team

Hello Group Members,

One of our sponsorship partners ODEE World is offering some special deals for the holidays, including FREE SHIPPING and slashed prices on their t-shirts and thermals.  There's still some time to get your stuff delivered by Christmas, too, so make sure you take a minute and check them out at http://www.odeeworld.com.

Thank you for your participation with ODEE World,

Sincerely,
Monica-Warnock Moore

OSL Updates & News

1. Don't forget that registration is needed for the XC event on learning to XC or improving your XC ski in January. If you're on the wait list and call the park to register, let me know and I'll move you from the waiting list to the regular list. You need to bring your own skis for this event.

2. The "Sports Dorm" at Giant's Ridge is filling up, so if anyone was interested in staying there on the Giant's Ridge weekend at the end of January they may want to make their reservations soon. The "Rovers" are also going up there that weekend so we're going to try and combine with them, and the Elan Vital Ski/Social Club for discount lift tickets. This is a make your own reservations weekend, but we'll help find roommates for people.

3. Tonka Ski & Cycle has 25% off on their snowshoes and they carry the "Tubbs" brand, but they don't have very many left. The top price was $179, and there would still be a discount off of that. They have lots of kids cloths and snowboard gear and clothing for the snowboarders out there. Not much XC stuff, but more downhill equipment. Most of the long underwear and socks are gone, but they still have mittens, gloves and hats.

4. When would everyone like to go tubing? A Friday night? A weeknight? A weekend? Let me know, as we do have someone who will coordinate/host that.

5. Several new events have been added to the calendar between now and March, so please check the calendar out. http://www.meetup.com/outdoor-snowlovers/calendar/

6. For the Sleigh Ride, XC, Snowshoe & Wine event on 12/26, you'll need to have your own XC/snowshoe equipment if planning to do either. Gear West in Long Lake (en route to Delano), all REI stores and Joe's Sporting Goods in St Paul all rent equipment. If an REI member it's $12 to rent snowshoes from them.

I think that does it for the updates and news.
