The Fundamentals are playing, the weather is wonderful, so lets have some fun tonight, laughing, dancing, & enjoying each others company!! I have reserved some tables for all us located on right side of the stage & I'll have Red Heart Balloons at each table to make it easy to find them.

Hi Mimi. No, I did not take it personal as I know you and I know where you are coming from. I do completely understand & I'm not happy about it either. But like Teresa said, its still a great venue, specially compared to other. And the nicer venues we are going to pay more for.

I also know the complaints will have more of a impact if we complain directly to the owner himself. I have tried to voice everyones opinion to him but right now he only listens to people who complain to him directly vs hearsay

I'm with you Cindy. While I'm not thrilled with the increases, parking, portapotties, etc. It is still a great venue. I went with girlfriends to Barone's a few times last summer... and the atmosphere is just fun. We had a ball every time. It reminds me of attending a huge wedding reception...without the bad bridesmaid dresses!! get what you pay for. We also attended Hilton twice last summer and I think it has changed in the last few years. It was not as nice..the crowd was not as nice either. Now that said...I am not sure if my parental duties are going to allow me to attend. I am going to try to make it out! It is my intention anyways. hope to see you there!

OK Everyone. I realize you are all upset. I am not happy with the change either, but enough of the Barone's bashing here. All n' all Barone's is still a very nice venue compared to other venues for all of us to go to, dance & socialize with each other. Please, lets not use this site to air your personal gripes. If you have a issue with Barone's, please talk to the owner himself.

I've heard from many of you recently & I completely understand your frustration with Barone's change this year. Please know this is totally out of my control.

As your host, I will contact the owner of Barone's myself & see if there is anything I can do for our group. Keep your fingers crossed. I will let you all know as soon as possible, so stay tuned.

For a couple of years, until this year, the price went up to $18 to get in. Valet parking was increased to $8 and admission was still free before 6pm and after 6pm it was $10. However, this year we were all shocked and tricked by the jacked up prices, with no warning whatsoever. Now, valet parking is still $8, but now, no matter how early you arrive, the admission is $10 and drinks are now around $10, too. Drinks were always a little higher at Barone’s, but we felt compensated by the free admission before 6pm and we all tried to get there early.
Since we had planned as a large group to go there this year, we still went in but nobody was happy about this. The bands that play are the same as at the Hilton. At the Hilton, parking is plentiful and still free, drinks are a lot cheaper and admission is still $5. Appetizer prices at Barone’s are around $15 but at the Hilton are a lot lower. What is the benefit to continue going to Barone’s?

Let us vote with our feet!

Almost 6 years ago our group moved from the Hilton, where we had loyally spent each Thursday night for the previous 5 or 6 years during the summer, to Barones. We liked it a lot because at first the parking was free and if you arrived at Barones before 6pm, admission was free, too. After 6, even the first year it was only $5. Drinks were pretty much the same price as Hilton, but we all liked Barones for the atmosphere. Parking has always been a problem at Barones, they just don’t have as much parking as at the Hilton. The second year they started charging $5 for valet parking, but we all paid because we liked it there. Parking was still a problem but we still went. Admission was still free before 6pm but after 6pm it was $10. (Beware of parking elsewhere because last year I paid over $400 to retrieve my car when it was towed for parking in the wrong place).
