New Forums on the Worcester Paddling Meetup Site and Other Info

Hi everyone,

In an attempt to improve our site, I've been adding new forums on our message board.  To access the forums hover your cursor over "Discussions" and click on "Message Board". I've recently added a forum called "Community Events".  If you know of a paddling related event (race, paddle-sports show, fundraiser for charity, demo-days, ACA classes, etc)  feel free to post it here as long as it is paddling related.

This is the time of year people start dreaming about and planning summer paddling adventures.  While the water is still too cold to paddle safely for most of us, it's nice to start thinking about all the fun we'll have on the water this season.  I am not recommending it, but, if you are tempted to get out soon (I see some water where there was recent ice), you can find information on the message board about cold water paddling.  There are articles and links on proper clothing choices: Dressing for all seasons and information on cold water immersion

The water has usually warmed up enough to start holding meetups in late April or early May. Certain bodies of water heat up sooner than others.  As soon as we have water temperatures above 60*F, we'll start paddling.  Until then, keep dreaming and planning. That's part of the fun, too!
