Paddling is a sport with some inherent dangers. You are expected to assess and know your paddling skills, abilities, and limitations before joining this paddle. Your first priority is your safety, second the safety of others, and third, have fun!

This is a PADDLE - not a FLOAT. You are expected to move faster than the current.

The Barren River will have good flow due to recent rains and the winter draw down.

This will be the Third Annual New Years Eve Day Barren River - College Street to Boatlanding Paddle. Come have some fun, burn some calories, and get pumped up for New Year's Eve!

Be there and unload at 11:30 CST. We will shuttle at 12:00PM CST.

A great way to end the year doing something you love with some great folks! Sunshine in abundance and fun folks to paddle with ~ thanks, Powell, for a successful 3rd annual New Year's Eve paddle on the Barren. Water was high and moving fast which made for an enjoyable paddle!

Nice flow today. We even 3 extra people show up today ( which is not a good idea, you should always sign up first ). It was a good day for a paddle.

Well, I'm here and unloaded; I don't know why I thought it was 10:30! Anyway can't leave as my boat is down by the bridge; Barren is really moving - no rocks showing at the chain of rocks.

an overnight/early morning low of 20F is forecast, and high of 45F, so come warm and in layers. River is still full and moving, and should be then.

Only if you paddle up river and cross into the eastern time zone, otherwise you might get done in time for parties.

So with the good flow and the paddling faster than the current, we should get done before we get started! :)
