Wunjo, pronounced (WOON-yoh), is the last rune of the first Aett of the Elder Futhark. Coming at a time of year when a shared harvest of bountiful goods brings members of the village together, Wunjo embodies the joy of relations between people as well as nature. Wunjo is most often referred to as the Joy rune. This symbolism comes just after last month?s rune ? Gebo, the ?giving? rune. Wunjo is the embodiment of the internal pleasure one gets from a year of action and interaction, true living and rightful action.
In runecasting, pulling a Wunjo from the bag might suggest that a person as at peace in his or her current situation. It could also stand as an affirmation that other runes pulled with it or, indeed, a positive answer to a query for which the divination is being performed.
Take time to enjoy your world and continue being kind to your fellow man. During the next two weeks, take stock in the things that make you truly joyous and also make a note of the things that only suffice for a quick fix. Hopefully, the joyous things have a long lasting worth and the list of quick fixes is small and fleeting.
