The Pennsylvania Browncoats

Can’t Stop The Serenity Philadelphia 2013 (aka CSTS Philly!)

2013 marks the 8th annual CSTS campaign in honor of Firefly/Serenity and benefiting Equality Now. CSTS Philly raised $2,364 in 2012, and we hope to raise even more this year! We'll be raffling off great prizes and will be having music and other entertainment in addition to the movie.

Tickets for CSTS Philly's July 14 Serenity screening event are now available for advanced purchase!

The presale tickets are $10. (At the door tickets will be $15.) Advance ticket sales will close July 10th, 2013.

All proceeds from CSTS Philly events benefit Equality Now.

I had a great time and hope others did as well. As a member of the organizing committee, I look forward to your feedback so we can make the next one even better.

Kyle, any idea on the condition of the air at the Rotunda? The forecast is for 91 degrees outside. Do they have enough fans?

Just a reminder for those of you who have not yet purchased a ticket online. You might want to do so... capacity of the venue is around 100 or so people and between this group and the Sci Fi Meetup group, we account for 60% capacity. With the other promotions we are doing we might actually fill the place. You might want to get your ticket online to ensure you have a seat.

I know some might say they would rather pay the extra $5 at the door for charity and I think that is great. But if we sell out you won't be giving anything and you could always take the $5 you save to buy raffle tickets for some of the shiny items we have available. So your money would go to charity anyways.

So if you want to be sure to get in (hey, I already bought my ticket), go to http://www.cstsphilly.webs.com/ to grab your ticket.

    Let's aim to misbehave...

The Rotunda is roughly at 40th and Walnut, so here is what I see in the neighborhood. City Tap House (Gastropub) on 40th&Walnut, Pattaya Grill (Thai) at 40th&Chestnut, Ramen Bar at 40th&Locust(no alcohol), Harvest Seasonal Grill (American$$)at 40th&Walnut.
Further out there's POD (Steven Starr Japanese) at 36th&Sansom, Abner's Cheesesteaks and a Chili's at 38th&Chestnut, Han Dynasty at 38th and Market.

WE ARE SOLD OUT OF SEATS for the Philly CSTS!!!

We are allowed a very very LIMITED number of standing-room-only tickets for up in the balconies, but we will only sell those to walk-ins. When those sell out, I will use the magic of smartphones to update the Facebook event.

Since I'm a volunteer, I will probably have to stay at the end to help clean up. But perhaps after I'm done I can join you at wherever you go.
