Drupal meetups are officially back in the San Gabriel Valley and are now on the 4th Thursday of each month. What to Bring
Just bring your laptop, your business cards or whatever else you need.
Although we're meeting at a restaurant, there is no obligation to buy food or alcohol.
Agenda
Our meetups follow a basic format and start off with Drupal news and announcements, local job announcements, raffle prizes and full-length presentations.
As always, we'll have community Q&A, during which time anyone in attendance can ask questions, divine answers from the crowd and give brief, 5-10 minute-long presentations known as lightning talks.
After the meetup, we'll finish off the night with more networking and a Drupal After Dark (http://groups.drupal.org/la/glossary#drupalafterdark) at 8:30pm. We may go out for coffee or tea at Intelligentsia or over to Jake's for something stronger.

Initial feedback from our SGV Drupal Reboot (http://groups.drupal.org/node/227343) indicates that attendees in the area want topics that will take them from "newbie" up the Drupal learning ladder. As part of this, Christefano Reyes (http://www.larks.la/team/christefano) (@christefano (https://twitter.com/christefano)) of Exaltation of Larks (http://www.larks.la/)(@LarksLA (https://twitter.com/LarksLA)) will be demoing Terms of Useless, a simple, single-purpose site that was built in an hour.
Terms of Useless (http://termsofuseless.com/) (@termsofuseless (https://twitter.com/termsofuseless)) highlights ridiculous terms and conditions being used on the web today. In this demo, we'll see how the site was built and how to add features sustainably using Drupal best practices.
Comparing Meetup.com and Groups.drupal.org
San Gabriel Valley Drupal now has two places to congregate and coordinate online:Meetup.com/SGV-Drupal (http://meetup.com/sgv-drupal)and Groups.drupal.org/san-gabriel-valley (http://groups.drupal.org/san-gabriel-valley).
If there's interest, we can discuss the differences and similarities between Meetup.com and Groups.drupal.org and how we can use the two to grow our open-source community.
