Fort MacArthur Museum in San Pedro, California. It?s a
great location, an old army fort that was used to defend the
port of Los Angeles from 1888 ? 1982. The main museum building
is located on a hill above the harbor, with a commanding view
of Catalina Island, the Port of LA, and the Pacific Ocean.
Every year in February we hold a special nighttime event called
?The Great LA Air Raid of 1942? it?s a vintage dance event,
floor show, special effects show. This is our way of making
history come alive and celebrate a famous incident that
happened here in February 1942.
The event has great visuals, but it?s an evening event outside.
This is a great opportunity for those of you who want to
practice your existing light photography and other creative
lighting tricks. The museum is open on Tuesday, Thursday,
Saturday, and Sunday from noon to five, and we operate on
donations only for most of the year. However the Air Raid is a
fundraiser for the museum?s education and restoration programs
so the admission cost that night is $20.00 at the door. For
more information check our website: www.ftmac.org or feel free
