I need help?.My cousin just asked me to help with photography
next Sat & Sun. at the Trask Boy Scout Reservation in the hills
They are organizating a Family Frontier Days Weekend Campout.
It will be a bit of
A re-encactment with participants and volunteers in costume.
There will be a Civil War
Re-enactment, a wild west demo, a blacksmithing area, there is
a lake w/boats, a
Teepee area, an actual fort and an amphitheater, wildlife plus
lots more. They have hopes of 250 participants but at this
point only 85 reservations have been made. But it?s still too
much for me to do alone.
But?If I can get a team of photographers and a couple of
videographers to cover the
Weekend this can be a really fun time and great photo opp. In
a perfect world it would be great to have photos covering the
activities, special events and perhaps even set up
Portrait stations (still to be determined). It could be a
great opportunity to shoot in B&W and Sepia tones. We do not
expect much in the way of post work on the shots, hopefully
photographers can either download their images or burn a cd on
site before they leave (I will have a mac laptop available).
If we can get enough video, we hope to produce a
Mini-doc or promotional video of the event for fundraising,
etc. for the group. This is a
Non-profit event and the organizer is willing to provide
volunteers with documents for your tax deductions. I will try
to organize this on site a much as I can considering the short
time frame, if we have enough volunteers I will even attempt to
produce a schedule. There should be enough other volunteers
that can help out as photo assistants. Portable lighting
would be good, but I?m not sure how practical that will be. We
may only have
Available light to use, but photographers will probably need
light reflectors and diffusers at the very least. I am hoping
to cover the daylight hours, but if we have photo campers it
would be great to get shots or footage of the evening campfire
events. I will not be camping but will be there both days.
Volunteer photographers will be provided with food and
beverages for free and can choose to stay at the camp for free
also. There are pitch tent sites and platform tents with
Cots available and can be reserved for volunteers. Here are a
few shots I took of the location yesterday on my Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/36443778@N03/sets/72157618335304347/
Please let me know if this is something you can help me with.
