Melrose Lightspace Studio presents the Pro Fashion Lighting Workshop, an all day intensive- hands on, fashion and beauty photography workshop in our 1600 sq.ft., W. Hollywood studio. This workshop is for the photographer who wants to take their work to next level and create the kind of images you see in today's fashion magazines. You'll learn how to work with the tools and techniques used by the top fashion and beauty photographers. The studio will be outfitted with the latest in professional lighting and light shaping tools and we will be limiting the class size to 6- to allow for plenty of one on one shooting with each of the three models we will have working. You'll learn by doing, guided by ACCD graduate and veteran commercial photographer Peter Michelena and at the end of the day, you'll have the knowledge and understanding to produce consistently high quality, high fashion and beauty images. With such a limited class size, this workshop will fill up fast, so lock in your spot today.

"Introductory Lighting Techniques" is our longest-running and most-attended workshop.
Instructor Adam Chilson presents his distinctive approach to the fundamentals of photographic lighting with studio strobes.

This workshop is level-appropriate for beginning photographers and those who have limited experience shooting with studio strobes, as well as photographers whose experience lies with natural/available light shooting.

The all day workshop presents interactive demonstration and discussion of a range of lighting setups for portrait, glamour, fashion, and artistic nude photography. The day includes hands-on practice, open Q&A, and several shooting sets with the workshop's models. Participants will walk away with portfolio level images.

Class topics:
** Review of basic camera functions applicable to studio photography.
** Single light studies: observations of light and shadow behavior.
** Light modifiers, soft, and hard light: when and where to use each, and how to combine them.
** Use of multiple lights to control and isolate lighting of model and set.
** Lighting and composing to the strengths of the model.
** Working with a makeup artist, and shooting images suitable to your MUA's portfolio as part of any shoot.

For those with a solid grounding in studio lighting techniques, or who wish to continue from the Introductory workshop:

Advanced Lighting Techniques itinerary page: http://www.starkravenmusic.com/itinerary-ALT.html (including photos from past sessions!)

Advanced Lighting Techniques continues the study of light behavior, incorporating multiple-light setups into a full production set build and shoot with the workshop's model.

**Creating multiple light setups using 3 or more studio strobes.
**Advanced study of light isolation and manipulation.
**Advanced use of light modifiers.
**Study of selective placement of shadows, and shadow casting tools.
**Independent selective lighting of model and set elements.
**Integration of props and environmental elements into an interactive set.

More detailed information about the March 28 Advanced session model and set build theme will be announced as we draw closer to the workshop date.
