Why are you interested in the Semantic Web?

I did a lot of work in formal semantics and computational linguistics for my dissertation long ago. I am interested in using standards-based representations to support my work with model-theory semantics.

What is your general background in technology, data modeling, and philosophy?

I am a developer and applications architect who has been using object-oriented technology since 1992, preceded by 12 years of application development using artificial intelligence techniques, relational databases, structured languages, and functional languages. Ph.D. dissertation was "Logical Forms for English Sentences" (UCLA Department of Linguistics), proposing a level of logical form to represent quantifier scope.

What technologies or platforms are you using to work with Semantic Web data?

Just started looking at Open Source tools.

Enterprise Java developer involved in natural language processing projects from time to time.
