Whether we are straight client-side graphic designers, or web developers with little design experience, the one thing we all have in common (besides an interest in making the web a better place) is that we work on the web a lot. Because of this, it's important to have at least a basic understanding of what goes on in the server. How does a message get from a URL you type in your browser, to a machine on another continent, and then back? How does PHP actually generate a website? What do "DNS" or "TCP/IP" actually mean?

This is the first (in possibly other) deeper dive into what makes the internet work. If you are a pure-designer, and never plan to code, these basics are good to know. If you think you already know all this, come and share your knowledge!

Presented by Keith Swallow

UPDATE: Due to issues beyond our control, the meetup has to meet the Tuesday after originally scheduled. Same Bat location, just not the same Bat time.
