Please acknowledge that you will give real consideration to the following questions. We are a group of writers that are serious about establishing writing goals and actively working toward those goals and we are seeking more of the same.

What genres do you like? Who are your favorite writers?

I've been a blogger for over 11 years, and professionally, I write copy for small businesses and the like. I just published my first anthology of poetry, and am hoping to publish a chapbook of poetic prose in 2013. I've been acting and singing professionally since the age of 6, so it isn't difficult to get me up on stage to participate in various literary events and open mics. I've been told I write prose that is snarky, humorous, and modern. However, I've yet to finish a novel...a goal to cross off my bucket list.

Have you chosen a particular genre? Format? Please elaborate: (I write short story horror, poety, romance novels, etc)

If you could write your short bio on a book jacket, what would it say?

Well, I could tell you what it *does* say, but it would be quite boring. Ideally, it would say "Alayna is a bon vivante with a flair for wit, a penchant for the melodramatic, and never one to be at a loss for words. She adores intellectual conversations over martinis, and is working to confine inappropriate displays of emotion and nonsensical love affairs to the page. Only time will tell...."

Yes, indeed. That. Great Expectations is a good book, worthy of appearing in all caps. And as a new member, I understand the guidelines! ;)

Hi, everyone! I'm Alayna, the Organizer of Atlanta New In Town Meetup, and a transplant from NYC. I'm involved in Write Club and a few other literary groups here in town, and recently published my first book of poetry. Looking forward to meeting you!
