Welcome to the Perth Business Book Club, which is for anybody in business (their own or working for somebody else) to meet and discuss their favourite business books.
We pick a book to discuss each month, and everybody who attends shares their ideas, insights, questions and comments from their reading of the book.
We've been meeting since 2011, and you can see all the past books we've discussed here.
How It Works
We choose one book each month, and meet for an hour to discuss it. Our regular venue is a restaurant in Leederville. After the meeting, anybody who wants to stay for dinner can do so (most people do, but there's no obligation).
We don't charge for the meeting, but the restaurant wants a minimum of $10 per person. This is not a cover charge; it's just the minimum they want each person to pay. This really only affects you if you don't stay for the meal.
You don't have to attend each month - just pick and choose the topics that interest you. All we ask is that if you do say you'll be there, turn up - otherwise it inconveniences everybody else.
Todd Sattersten has written an excellent report called "How to Read a Business Book".
Kirsten Shearn of The Inspiration Factory in Subiaco has kindly offered all our members free membership, which entitles you to 10% discount on books. Just e-mail her at email@example.com and tell her you'd like to join.
