HoL: Intro to Azure and Azure Web Sites

This lab will kick off our series about Azure. We'll be using selected labs from the Azure Training Kit. This HoL will provide an intro to Azure, and we'll work with Azure Web Sites.

The Azure Training Kit can be downloaded at http://windowsazure-trainingkit.github.io

If you have an MSDN subscription, then great.  You're already in position to take advantage of all Azure has to offer.  If not, don't worry.  You can still sign up for a free trial here http://www.azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/free-trial/

You can host website in Azure with plethora  of technologies, but since this is the .NET user group, we'll focus on mostly that tech stack.  You can download the Azure SDK you find most appropriate for you at http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/downloads/

Don't worry if you don't get all this setup prior, we'll take some time to ensure everyone is ready to go before we get started.  We look forward to sharing you the newest feature

As usual, registration will be closed around 12pm tomorrow so we can plan accordingly for pizza. Please change your RSVP if you are unable to make it.  For those of you that plan on attending, parking is first come, first serve out in front of the building.  Please do not park in the spots reserved for the other business in the building.  If no parking is available out in front of the building, please use one of the adjacent lots.  Do not hesitate to contact me with any questions. In case anyone was interested. Here is the link to the Azure primer that I found for building a cloud native app:

To my knowledge it is a video stream, being held today and tomorrow (though tomorrow is not listed on the site) from 12pm-4:30pm Eastern Standard time.

Are there any resources/downloads for this HoL that we should have locally in preparation?

Hey Mike. Yes. I will update the abstract later today with that info. If you haven't already, sign up for an Azure account and download the appropriate sdk from the Azure website.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
