Hip and Well Read November: Blankets

Details
Hey Hipsters and Bibliophiles,
The people have spoken and our November book will be Blankets by Craig Thompson.
At 592 pages, Blankets may well be the single largest graphic novel ever published without being serialized first. Wrapped in the landscape of a blustery Wisconsin winter, Blankets explores the sibling rivalry of two brothers growing up in the isolated country, and the budding romance of two coming-of-age lovers. A tale of security and discovery, of playfulness and tragedy, of a fall from grace and the origins of faith. A profound and utterly beautiful work from Craig Thompson.
Blankets is available on Amazon.com, however, I encourage you all to support your local independent book store or library:
City Paper's List of Independent Bookstores (http://www.citypaper.net/articles/2009/03/19/its-a-jungle-out-there)

PLEASE ONLY RSVP IF YOU INTEND TO SHOW UP, more than 3 no shows in a row will result in a temporary ban from RSVP-ing until you can assure me you will actually attend. We are having far too many people RSVP and then not showup and people changing their RSVP at the last possible minute preventing other members from being able to attend.
You will notice that that if you RSVP "Yes," you'll be charged to attend. This is to help me cover my costs as Organizer and reduce the number of no-shows we have at meetings. Please keep in mind I'm only giving refunds if the meeting is canceled or rescheduled, not if you change your mind about attending.
Thinking about coming when the Meetup is FULL? Read/click here. (https://www.meetup.com/philadelphia-hip-and-well-read-book-club/pages/Coming_when_the_meeting_is_full/)
Happy Reading!
Michelle
