Broadway Bound Meetup is open to anyone interested in theater and the arts. Darlene says "It all started with my love of Broadway Musicals and New York City, and looking for others to share this interest with, thus the name. Joel joined me as Co-Organizer this year. Together we have and will introduce you to the ever-growing DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia and NYC theatre scene, and most importantly, you will be sharing these events with others who love theatre. Making friendships and sharing our love for theatre is the main purpose for Broadway Bound Meetup, so participate!"

OUR EVENTS (MEETUPS)

On our Meetup site, we provide you with theatre events, and information about reviews, articles, interviews, theatre schedules, and links to articles, interviews and reviews on local theatre websites such as DC Theatre Scene http://dctheatrescene.... As we plan trips and events in Washington DC, New York City, Baltimore, and Philadelphia, we gather invaluable resources on restaurants, hotels, places, and shows to see - and you can utilize this wealth of information in our TRIP PLANS AND RESOURCE GUIDE.

THE MESSAGE BOARDS

There are a number of Message Boards, which serve as an index to the theatre information. These boards provide educational information membership information, including member etiquette, expectations, and opportunities.

We urge our members share their theatre experiences and to post information about shows playing in DC, Philadelphia, and NYC - on The Message Board. Your messages are not emailed to the membership, but can be seen by members visiting the site.

WANT TO HOST AN EVENT? USE THE ‘IDEAS’ FEATURE

Click on the Tab labeled ‘IDEAS’ at the top of the Home Page. If you want to host an event, please send your information to both Darlene and Joel dalene@broadwaybound.com and joel@ushers.us.

Here’s what we need from you:
(1) The name of the event (show/trip to a show outside in the DC, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and/or NYC).
(2) The date your want to host the event.
(3) The information: Name of the show, cost of tickets, location and time, and restaurant address if you want to host lunch and/or dinner.

We will be reviewing event hosting requests, and will be selecting 3 events per month for our Meetup calendar.

BECOME A CONTRIBUTING MEMBER (‘CM’), AND RECEIVE SOME GREAT ‘PERKS’!

Payment of the one-time contribution is optional, but if you do decide to make this payment – you will be added to the 'Contributing Member" list. When you become a ‘CM’, you will receive a PASSWORD which will give you access the TRIP PLANS AND RESOURCE GUIDE, and you will receive special ‘perks’ including gift certificates to local restaurants and free and/or discounts to local shows and social events.

(1) Darlene prefers you pay through AMAZON or PAYPAL, but you can also pay by check.

PARTICIPATE!
Now that’s you’ve become a member of Broadway Bound Meetup, participate!! You can’t meet new friends or enjoy a Meetup event unless you RSVP and attend an event. So join us for our upcoming events!

INFORMATION YOUR EVENT HOST NEEDS FROM YOU:

When you RSVP you will be asked to provide the following information to your ‘EVENT HOST’ so that he/she can send you information including directions, show information, a menu for the restaurant, carpool information, and the attendees list.
(1) Your Full Name.
(2) An email address where you can be reached.
(3) Your cell phone number.
(4) A ‘YES’ or “NO’ if you will be attending the lunch and/or dinner.

****This information will only be known to the ‘EVENT HOST’ and WILL NOT BE SHARED OR EMAILED to the other attendees or the membership.

BE COURTEOUS – SHOW UP IF YOU RSVP - OUR NO-SHOW POLICY

When you RSVP for the show and the meal - SHOW UP! The ‘EVENT HOST’ has spent many hours organizing the event, so be mindful of that and also remember that the reputation of Broadway Bound Meetup suffers when members ‘skip out’ of dinner or lunch they have RSVPed for.

(1) If you are a “NO SHOW’ 2 TIMES, you will be REMOVED from the membership list.

(2) We review the membership list several times during the year, and AFTER THE FIRST YEAR AFTER YOU HAVE BECOME A MEMBER, if we see that you have not participated in any events, we will first email you - and if we don’t hear from you - you will be REMOVED from the Broadway Bound Meetup membership list. If you didn't want this, you can join back up and begin participating.

WE WANT TO MEET YOU AT BROADWAY BOUND MEETUP EVENTS!
Now that the ‘You Must…’ rules are out of the way, let’s get back to why you signed up. You want to meet other theatergoers in the area, make friends, see great shows, and travel to Philly, Baltimore, and NYC for wonderful weekends, so it’s all up to you. So, RSVP and come to our events!
