I began studying French in elementary school - 2nd grade. While I attended an American prep school - it was founded by a French nun, Madeline Sophie and thus there was a strong influence of French languaguage and culture. French was required for grades 2 - 12. There were trips to france in high school. There is also something about the French mentality and sense of joie de vivre that has always resonated with me. I continued my French studies in college, but stopped after earning a BA. While studying in Paris for my masters, I made a difficult decision to leave due to social/poitical unrest. There remains a huge place in my heart for the French way of life. I look forward to returning - perhaps even to live. For that ever to become a reality, I need a LOT of practice. Can't wait to meet other group members.
Salut et Joyeux Annee 2012! I am so excited to have found PhillyFrench Meetup. I am a true francophile - having studied the French since about age 7. I look forward to upcoming opportunities to meet and share our passion for la Belle France.
I plan to return, but I was more enthusiatic before I attended.
