RE: [philosophy-180] so sorry!

Dear April,

Thank you so much for everything you have done: starting Socrates Caf? in Milwaukee, bringing cookies and brownies to nourish our bodies and your unique perspective to nourish our souls. You’ve had a lasting impact on me and I continue to think about some of your ideas and the wisdom you have brought to the table. Good luck with your travels and future endeavors. I know you will bring the force of your personality and spirit to those from Omaha to Korea.

You’ll be missed… Alan

Subject: [philosophy-180] so sorry!

Hi Everyone. I'm so sorry to have missed you tonight! I was stuck in the middle of some unexpected events. I guess that's life! I hope you had a great discussion!

I have some sad newscrying...well, at least it is sad to me. I will have to end my attendance to Socrates Cafe at the end of this month. The months of March and April are filled to the brim with commitments and travels and I won't be around on most of the Mondays. It's weird to be saything this, Socrates Cafe has been such a huge part of my life the past 2 years. I will miss you all!

With that in mind, I'm looking for someone (or a few someone's) to step up and facilitate. What does that mean?

Well, I will need someone to take over on the meetup site. You will have all the rights to the group, you will be able to send out these mass emails, you will be able to update the calendar, and you will be responsible for the account. I think we are paid up until May so after that you will have to recharge it.

I also need someone (or a few of you) to bring cookies/goodies. Someone has to carry on the yummy-ness!

And then there is the hospitatlity side of the job (which I am sometimes not so good about). It's important to welcome new members on meetup and to answer questions etc. I have not always been quick to this part of my job which I regret.

So there you go, please think about this. Perhaps some of you could team up. I hope that you keep meeting for a long long time. I think a lot of good has come from Socrates Cafe-Milwaukee!

ALSO...I will not be at next week's meetup. I know I know, I'm sorry! I'm visiting a dear friend in
Omaha, a girl I met while I was living in the Swiss Alps. We have not seen eachother since we left in '05 so I expect this to be a wonderful wonderful trip! I'll miss you, but hey it's a chance for someone else to practice the afore mentioned tasks!

Keep in touch with me, give me your feedback, let me know if you would like to take on some more leaderly duties with this group.

See you all in two weeks!

-April
