Our next Net Tuesday, April 1 (no fooling!) will be about integrating a CRM (constituent management system, or database of people) into your website. We will be meeting at the Friends Center, 1501 Cherry Street. Gather and network at 6:00 PM, and the program will begin at 6:30.
We'll briefly cover what CRM is and why an organization might need it, and then hear from two presenters on how to have that data exposed on and integrated with your website. For instance, you can allow people to update their own records, make donations, register for events, or review their own activity with your organization, directly updating and maintaining your CRM. Building a broad
dataset in this way to understand your organization's constituents can help you make better decisions, raise more dollars, and execute your mission more effectively.
Who should attend?
• Nonprofit professionals and activists who are considering enhancing (or modifying) their website's capacity to manage information about their various constituents (donors, members, subscribers, participants…). The discussion will be accessible to a non-technical audience.
• Techies who want to learn (and share!) about the needs of nonprofits to integrate this critical capability into various types of websites.
• Anybody who is interested in this fast-moving social web technology.
Thomas Taylor, moderator: Thomas is Account Manager for CRM Science, and a long-time member of the nonprofit technology community. He co-led a CRM/website integration project at the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance, and now works as developing solutions on the Salesforce platform for all kinds of organizations.
Marcus Iannozzi, Founder, Principal, and Creative Director, Message Agency: Marcus is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and has 20 years of experience in developing and implementing communications strategies and social marketing campaigns for the public and nonprofit sectors. He has extensive expertise in Internet-based communications, website design and development, graphic design, content development, and project management. Message Agency is one of the lead development firms working on the Salesforce Suite for the Drupal web content management system.
Paul Keogan, Principal and Founder, BackOffice Thinking: Paul has been a leading technology consultant for the past 15 years. Paul initially worked with Fortune 500 and fast-growing software companies, and since 2006, with the founding of BackOffice Thinking, he has worked primarily with not-for-profit organizations. Paul’s passion is to transform his clients’ use of technology to better serve and engage their constituents, grow their donor base, and run their organizations more effectively. With the BackOffice Thinking team, he has led numerous projects to implement CiviCRM, an open-source CRM deisgned for nonprofits that integrates with open-source content management systems.
