French Conversation - Intermediate
Details
Bonjour et hello! Ce meetup est pour ceux qui veulent pratiquer leur Francais au niveau intermediaire (pas debutant et pas au niveau avance). Prenez un dictionaire si vous le voulez et a la prochaine!
This meetup is self-directed and for those looking to practice French at intermediate levels (not for beginners or advanced speakers). Bring a dictionary if you like and see you next time!
P.S.: If you are wondering "how do I know what level this is?" and if this is the right level for you, go to the link below to see if you are at this level of intermediate speaking:
http://french.about.com/library/reading/bl-readingindex.htm
If the intermediate text from that page is very challenging: you are a beginner not intermediate.
If you can understand most of the intermediate text from that page: you are at an intermediate level.
If the intermediate text from the page is too easy: you are advanced not intermediate.
P.P.S: Clarification on levels:
Beginner: you have not yet studied the language or have a taken a few classes, you know some or no vocabulary, maybe you can say some sentences that feel 'canned' but get stumped for lack of vocabulary or grammar.
Intermediate: you know grammar and have vocabulary, you can keep up a conversation but would like to build/maintain your vocabulary and practice to reach a higher level.
Advanced: you can keep up a conversation without too much hesitation, once in a while you might miss the right word but can replace it with some substitute words.
Fluent/native: you can converse on most any topic including making jokes, you have a developed vocabulary and can read major newspapers.
