TOP OF TOPANGA / COLD CREEK PRESERVE / 6 MILE HIKE & GRUB AT ABUELITAS AFTERWARD

GREAT workout and TERRIFIC SCENERY with several ROCK FORMATIONS on the way!!! Trail climbs a ridge and through several interesting rock formations to one of the highest peaks in the immediate Santa Monica Mountains at just over 2,700 feet; where we'll have an incredible view of the valley and neighboring mountain range. On the way down, the trail zig-zags among the trees, passes a homestead once settled by an old gold miner and a rusted out Dodge Truck. It's densely shaded towards the bottom, and runs parallel to a stream.

We'll be hiking at a RELAXED pace... with occasional stops; so there will be time to take photos and admire the incredible scenery

Meet 10:30AM... will leave at 10:45 SHARP

SNACK / 20 MINUTE BREAK AT THE TOP

STEEP IN PLACES.... SOME ROCK SCRAMBLING!!! BRING HIKING SHOES WITH TRACTION

SORRY... NO DOGS

ELEVATION GAIN 1,400 feet

From the 405/101 Freeway...
Exit Mulholland Dr /Valley Circle Blvd and go south on Mulholland Dr for 0.5 mi
Turn Right on Valmar St for 1.2 mi
Turn right on Mulholland Hwy for 3.8 mi
Left on Stunt Rd 1.0 mi
Park at turnout on right

From the 101 Freeway east of Calabasas: 101 East, exit on Las Virgenes Road
Head south for 3 miles to Mulholland Highway.
Turn left and continue 4 miles to Stunt Road.
Turn right and drive one mile to the pullout on the right.
