We will meet and greet and then will hike to the Inspiration Point. There we can rest and eat some snack then we come back in a loop. There are different trails, but this one is short and would take around one hour or more, depending of the group and photo stops. The whole (shortest) hiking took me less than 2 hours (The museum is closed on Mondays), and I did it slowly observing and photoshooting. I heard many song birds, such as finch and Cali Thrashers, and hummingbirds... My delight was observing the horses and a lovely mule deer who apparently was confortable having me near her, and then she went to grass near the horses.
After the Inspiration Point, and depending on the wheather and the group willingness we can also hike a litle portion on the backbone trail, and come back using the other half of the loop, to go to the parking lot or to the museum.
Beautiful flowers to see, and the views are amazing. You can see double downtowns mixed up: Westwood and Century City and Century City with Downtown LA. Baldwin Hills, Palos Verdes, even Catalina Island and some ships and airplanes...
Bring water, snacks for picnic, and cash or ready check for paying parking lot.
Parking lot costs: $ 12
Hours of this venue: Sundays 10 AM to 4 PM
After the hiking we can visit the Museum and Gift shop.
