We explore all aspects of digital SLR photography, from working with great models using natural light, on- and off-camera flash, and studio lights to technical instructions on exposure, color management, and Photoshop.
Have you ever been excited by what you see on your camera's LCD just to discover when you get home that your images are drab & lifeless? Or maybe you've mastered your camera with & without flash and you're looking to take your skills to the next level using multiple off-camera flashes (known as a Strobist lighting rig) or studio lights. Or perhaps you already know how to make the most of your equipment, but you want to start working with models. This is the group for you!
In this group we focus on getting results you'll be proud to show. We aim to cover everything from beginning to advanced technical topics and provide opportunities to use what you learn.
To make it happen, we'll provide a mix of workshops, group shoots, and instructional sessions ranging in price from totally FREE to reasonable—we have to cover the costs of running this group, renting space & equipment, and paying models, after all. :-)
Most of all, we're dedicated to getting people out & about with their cameras in hand, so we'll fine-tune the activities based on what members find the most useful. The best way to see what we're about is to check out our past events—we've done everything from tour local fine art photo labs to Photoshop sessions to model shoots to photo walks around the area.
Thanks for visiting our group and we hope to see you at our next meetup!
