The talk was mostly good. The high level description of Couchbase was very informative (coming from virtually no, NoSQL knowledge) However, I think attempting code demos seems a bit of a waste of time. The programmers in the room (well, at least myself) would be fine with just examples in slides, and I imagine the non programmers wouldn't be keen in any case. I was a tiny bit disappointed that the guy giving PHP examples didn't know that much PHP!
It was good o chat with other developers as well: I'm in a small company, and I realise my contact with other experienced developers is limited. Looking forward to the next one :-)

Last week AppShed released a PHP API for developers to build cross platform mobile apps using PHP. We now have a code generator within AppShed so it will generate all the GUI code for you, all you have to do is write the business logic.
AppShed is free for building web apps. A developer account allows you to download the source code and submit to any App Store using PhoneGap Build. This is free for the next month while we are in Beta.
I'll do a quick demo at the MeetUp if there's interest?
