  • This location is shown only to members

PHP London is a non-profit group to promote knowledge sharing and best practice amongst PHP developers and web development and business professionals in London. The main product right now is a regular PHP meetup. In order to attend all you need is an interest in PHP.

Drinks at the beginning of this month's meeting are generously sponsored by Hailo.

Hailo is the Taxi Magnet - a free smartphone app which puts people two taps away from a licensed taxi, and lets cabbies get more passengers when they want them. A Hailo hail is accepted around the world every four seconds from Hailo’s global network of tens of thousands of drivers and hundreds of thousands of passengers. Hailo is available in New York, London, Dublin, Toronto, Chicago, Boston and Madrid - and coming next to Tokyo, Washington DC, and Barcelona. Hailo has carried millions of passengers and grown to annualized sales of over $100M. Founded by three taxi drivers and three internet entrepreneurs, Hailo has raised over $50M from investors including Union Square Ventures, Accel Partners, Wellington Partners, Atomico Ventures and Sir Richard Branson.

Hailo is currently hiring software engineers and devops engineers.

Yes, it is always difficult for first time speakers, and it is even worse in lightning talks where you have no slides supporting you. So, big kudos to the speakers!

If anyone would like a bit of background about how to do CI with Joomla, these are the two tools you'll need to pull it off - http://www.jrush.org.uk (to control Joomla via command line) and http://www.jfeatures.org.uk (to save website state/do db state migrations)
