Meeting Description: An Introduction to ZendFramework-1.0.3 MVC Web Application Architecture:
Joel Bair - Developer at eValuation Solutions, LLC. and Owner BASE, Ltd. will be presenting an introduction to the infamous ZendFramework. As with most things that Zend Technologies, Ltd. takes on -- relatively short time frames prove refinement and optimization. With the ZendFrameWork-1.5.x release on the horizon, and over 1 million downloads of the 1.0.3 release, and widespread adoption by companies such as IBM, VARIEN, RIGHT MEDIA, bwin Games AB, and Adooda: there is no time like the present to get familiar with the power, flexibility, simplicity, and control web application development with ZendFramework.
ZendFramework envelops more of a library or toolkit than the classical MVC framework. With the core architecture derived from the choicest cuts of many legendary MVC frameworks , and a basic goal-set of simplicity, object-oriented best practices, open licensing, and a rigorously tested agile codebase: development flexibility and elegance are nearly unprecedented.
To cover a diverse audience with varied technical backgrounds, I will endeavor to keep presentation content focused on key utilization and implementation concepts:
* Basic MVC concepts.
* Ok that's great but what does it really do for me.
* ZendFramework's built-in features and tools.
* ZendFramework's - Simplicity of Design.
* Routine development made simple (templates, menus, URLs).
* Intro to DataBase Abstraction -- (Taking the DBA out of the developer).
** Following up with as much High-Level Question and Answer as time permits.
Code demonstration and examples will be available during the High-Level Q&A phase of the presentation.
This presentation is aimed at the somewhat experienced PHP developer, familiar with PHP-5.1.x and later, intermediate to advanced OOP concepts, and Web2.0 technologies - yet has been tailored to suit all levels of experience.
