Announcing a new Meetup for The Pittsburgh Beer Meetup!

What: North Country Brewing Company

When: Saturday, August 7,[masked]:00 PM

Where: North Country Brewing Co
141 S Main St
Slippery Rock, PA 16057
(724)[masked]

Who?s up for a weekend day trip?? Several of us have been saying for months that we?d like to take a trip up to North Country Brewing Company in Slippery Rock. Well, the time has finally come!

Because this location is about an hour north of Pittsburgh, I?m planning this event for lunchtime on a Saturday in order to give us plenty of time to eat, drink and be merry and then sit around for awhile until it?s safe to make the hour-long drive back home again. I know some folks had expressed interest in possibly doing some hiking/biking/exploring in the area either before or after our event, which I highly recommend because it?s really beautiful country up there. The brewery is close to Moraine and McConnell?s Mill State Parks, Jennings Nature Reserve, and Slippery Rock University. From NCBC?s website: ?This area offers awesome cycling, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, rock climbing, and hiking - the North Country Trail is blazed just 2 miles southeast of us.?

North Country Brewery?s beers may change daily, but as I wrote this, they were offering 11 unique brews ranging from lite to red to porter to stout, and even feature an ever-changing ?fruit bowl? beer plus a cask ale. Beer List I verified with the manager that they will fill our 64 oz. growlers, no matter what bar/brewery they originally came from. Growler refills range from $8-14. Of course, you can always purchase a new one from them, as well. From what I hear, folks don?t flock to North Country JUST for the beer (or the homemade root beer) ? they?re known to have really great food made with locally grown fresh produce, as well.

If you?re interested in carpooling, please let Mike, Jim, or me know and we?ll see what we can work out either among ourselves or involving other group members. Hope to see you there!
