Announcing a new Meetup for The Pittsburgh Beer Meetup!

What: Beer Nutz Plaza (Aspinwall/Blawnox)

When: Wednesday, October 6,[masked]:00 PM

Where: Beer Nutz Plaza
1335 Freeport Road
O'Hara Township, PA 15238

I first met the Beer Nutz guys at the Millvale Beer Fest a few months ago. They were very friendly and we talked a good bit. Their place is just past the north end of the Waterworks Mall area. I suppose it is called "Plaza" because they have the restaurant, bottleshop and a distributor all in the same building. I have stopped in twice now and their service has been quick and good. Their food is along the hotdog and burger line, but both times I went it was quite tasty. They have a rather wide bottle selection with most options available at either room temperature (for taking home) or refrigerated. They also have a decent tap selection with a large Octoberfest style selection at the moment.

Both times that I have gone there seemed to be a number of ?regulars? there. There was some ?what are you getting this time? comments and people seemed to know each other to a point. Not friends, but just customers saying ?hi? to each other. It made it feel like the locals like going there which I put down in the win column.

They recently expanded their dining area, and by recent I mean last month. The first time that I went it was still under construction. This weekend I got to see it and the manager said that he would reserve that new area for us. He also agreed to separate checks so that will not be an issue either. There is also a selection of board-games for customers to play at their tables.

They do not have a regular website, just a Facebook page. Mike did a review on UrbanSpoon and he has a sample menu. The menu has since expanded a little, but it will give you a general idea of what to expect. He also has a few pictures of both the outside and inside of the restaurant. I made this one for 7pm so that rush hour traffic would not play a part in people?s commute. With the construction on Rt28 I did not want that to be an issue. I will be going over the Highland Park Bridge and never get on 28, but some people might have to.
