If I was into those little dancing emoticons I?d put one here. Instead, I sit here smiling; hoping I can translate the fun we?ve been having through my words. But quite honestly, I feel like a little animated dancer might just do a better job.
We?ve had 11 meet-ups so far. Crazy! Considering this group was a late-night idea that kept me up ?til 3am, madly typing out an introduction and pulling out my credit card to pay for the registration. Ha! Build the field and they will come?and you have.
Tag! You?re it! is only three members shy of the century mark. A core group of regulars have been keeping the games alive ? and new faces are joining us every week. I love it. Our group is always changing; and every game day has its own nummy flavour.
We?ve figured out how to have a ton of fun with just a handful of players. It?s been a delightful surprise, finding so many interesting and dynamic people who want to play! As a kid I took this stuff for granted. As an adult, I value every moment.
I?m putting together a new schedule for October. We?re continuing our 6pm Monday meet-ups for all the Funsters who love starting their week with a rousing night of tag. And we?re changing our weekend meet-ups to Sundays at 2pm. Both at Clark Park.
This schedule and location is based on feedback from the polls and emails I received from our members. Thanks for all your feedback! I hope I get to play with all of you at some point in October. Tag has been a blast so far, and it?s only just begun?
Seriously the most fun ever! We meet in a public park and roll out our favourite games from when we were kids - Freeze Tag, Tunnel Tag and Fox & Squirrel - and add a whole bunch more - Chuck the Chicken, Human Foosball and President & Bodyguard. It’s all about the running, chasing and deking!
We aim for FUN every time. Be warned: all this running around is a challenge! The good news is that these games accommodate all fitness levels. Everyone is welcome. All you need to do is laugh, play and be prepared to look and feel silly!
