September Theme : : Transformation

This month the theme is TRANSFORMATION! Thanks Rog!

This triptych painting by Shawn Cheng is called 72 Transformations. It is acrylic and ink on canvas - 108" x 48".

Bring a new theme based piece, or an existing piece that fits the theme, or anything you like! Just be there! This would be a good opportunity to photograph your work in stages, to show the "transformation".

Also, I'd like to do another exchange, and hopefully you do too! This will be at the October meeting so you have two months to work on it. Let's say 8x10 or 10x10, canvas or wood, GRATITUDE is the theme. Sound good?

See you in four weeks! :)

the dog suggestion msg (based on your profile pic) was just meant as an example of something (could be anything- your favorite sandwich for that matter) that could fit into this month's "gratitude" theme, if it was something you felt grateful for.

Gratitude? I have no idea what to do for that… none.

How would you express your gratitude to someone? It could be as simple as a painting of a bunch of flowers. It's an exchange. What would you like to create and give to the group to express your gratitude?

I still have no idea. Prob too much strife in my daily life at this time. Working on clearing it. Sorry to be a nub.

Hey, you guys, I found the names of three of those butterflies: Blue Morpho, Longwing Sappho, and Indian Leaf. I can't remember who was asking.. anyway, I can't find the others at the present time.. Sorry!

Jenn, will you provide the 8x10 or 10x 10 canvas like you did last year or I need to get my own? Either way is fine with me.

    • Jenn

Hi Pauline! All participants will supply their own canvas or wood.

How does the "exchange" part work? Everybody shows up with a piece & then what happens?

I've started mine. 10 inch square canvas. I thought I'd better start early.

I got mine rolling today. I have part of the layout done.. initial sketch half done. It will probably be 10 x 10. Lots more to do! Sure hope I have enough time to get October done ahead of time.

August was a delightful meet up (well, they all are), but this meet up was especially good because some of the early, founding members, going back almost seven years, were here. It's a talented, inspiring group. We should all pat our selves on the back!

Oh, dress as you wish, Vicki! I don't think that's too old.

It sure was a great meeting! Thanks to everyone for helping me "stretch" artistically. I came home so inspired. September's topic is going to be wonderful. Great idea! Also, I will be glad to try to complete my October submission before October, as I will be on the road the entire month. I'll try to get it ready to hand off by the September meeting (yikes). :)
