The group will view a 30-minute section of Eric Toensmeier's DVD on Perennial Vegetables (the segment that focuses on species for our climate) to warm up the conversation. Then folks will share info on growing experiences and resource knowledge. We can also swap seeds and plants if you have some to share (no worries if you don't - bring your enthusiasm!). Consideration of plant trials, seed library and nursery opportunity are some possible action ideas.

Space is limited but hopefully this will be just one in a series of gatherings in the midcoast.

Suggested Agenda

2:00 - 2:30 Arrival/Introductions

2:30 - View 30 Minutes of Perennial Veg DVD

3:00 - Go-Round Discussion of Experiences/Favorites/Interests

4:00 - Share Potluck Food

5:00 - Head home...

Please bring a potluck dish to share and your own potluck kit (dish/bowl/utensils/cup/napkin) for a zero waste event. Bring plants or seeds to swap if you have them. Dress for the weather so that we can be outside as much as possible.

All experience levels welcome.

This gathering is an outcome of the very well attended and inspired MOFGA panel discussion on perennial vegetables facilitated by Lisa Fernandes, Aaron Parker, Greg Martin, Max Boudreau and Cassandra Sears at the March 2013 Seed Swap & Scion Exchange in Unity.

There will probably be a Portland version of this meetup as well a little later in the season.
