Zone 00: Strengthen Your Immune System for Winter and for Life

Details
Please join us for a special hands-on meetup in October with Jenna Labbe-Watson during which we will learn about the Ayurveda approach to understanding and strengthening our immune systems. This will be one in a series of "Zone 00" (https://permaculture.wikia.com/wiki/Zones_(Permaculture)) skill-builder events taking place over the course of the fall and winter.
As we strive to take better care of ourselves outside the "conventional" medical system, these types of knowledge and skills will become ever more important in our lives.
Portland Location TBD - space will be limited.
Ayurveda is the 5,000 year old healing tradition of India. Literally translated from the Sanskrit it means “wisdom of life.” This rich history has given us a sophisticated approach to maintaining and recovering vibrant health. According to the Ayurvedic paradigm, there are seven “dhatus” or “tissues” that must be well nourished in order for our immune system to function well. In this workshop we will look at the foods, herbs, and lifestyles that replenish the dhatus and improve immunity. We will make and sample various potions and brews that deeply restore our vital essence, with special attention placed on the needs of the body and spirit during the seasonal shift into Winter.
