How long were you in the church?

I was a member of the LDS church for about 20 years.

What caused you to question the church?

I can't say that there was a particular thing that drove me away from the church save for the process of growing up. In LDS parlance, they might say that I am not so much a fallen saint, as one who sauntered vaguely downwards. It took time, but the more I learned about the church, the more I though about what I considered right and wrong, and the more I separated what I believed from what I'd been told I should believe, the worse the church looked.

Hi there. My name is Sam and I'm a recovering Mormon. I am currently a student at the U of U, majoring in philosophy. My particular interests being the ethics of intention, the philosophy of science, and fundamental ontology.
