Vintage Pinup Workshop

**Important! You MUST register and pay at this link to reserve your spot:  http://precisioncamerauniversity.com/pinup-workshop/

Vintage pinup photography has become very popular yet can be very challenging. In this all-day workshop, award-winning photographer Tim Babiak will share his process for creating stunning vintage pinup photography based on the work of legendary pinup illustrator, Gil Elvgren. You'll spend the morning shooting live pinup models and the afternoon doing editing/post-production.

Topics will include:

- Understanding and interpreting Elvgren's style

- Set styling, wardrobe styling, makeup and hair

- Lighting and posing

- Using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom for RAW conversion

- Using advanced Photoshop techniques for pinup editing

- Using Photoshop plug-ins to add polish to your images

Styling for the models will be provided by local wig and makeup stylist Allison Lowery. Allison earned a MFA from the UNC School of Arts in Design & Technology of Wigs and Makeup. Today, Allison serves as Wigs and Makeup Specialist at the University of Austin Performing Arts Center where she serves as an instructor. Allison has published two books. The first book, "Wig Making and Styling: A Complete Guide for Theatre & Film" was released in 2010. Her second book, "Historical Wig Styling Set: Historical Wig Styling: Ancient Egypt to the 1830s" was just released in April of this year. You will have the opportunity to meet with Allison to gain her perspective on styling for the vintage pinup look.

Allison will be assisted by local wig and makeup stylist Anna Fugate. Anna studied with Allison Lowery and earned a BA from the University of Texas in the College of Fine Arts. After graduating, Anna completed a one-year program in Makeup Design at the Vancouver Film School, widely regarded as the world's premier institution of its kind. Anna currently resides in Austin working for MAC Cosmetics and freelancing doing weddings, films, videos and still photography projects.

IMPORTANT:This will be an exciting and information-packed day and is intended for the intermediate to advanced photographer. For shooting, participants should be familiar with using their cameras in manual mode with all of the auto settings disabled. For post-production, participants should be familiar with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop. In Photoshop, participants should be familiar with using layers, masks and tools such as the clone stamp and healing brush. Lightroom 4.4 and Photoshop CS6 will be used for instruction. Participants will need to bring a laptop with Lightroom and Photoshop for the afternoon portion of the workshop.

Your enrollment includes photo release for promotional/portfolio use so you'll have the opportunity to add some great images to your portfolio.
