Following the recent release of the Safecoin paper (https://www.maidsafe.org/t/safecoin-paper-published/2794), I was considering organizing a meetup on Safecoin. I am really glad to announce that I have found someone to help me organize such a meetup.
About 2 months ago, I met Joel at the Bitcoin Embassy when he started working at the co-working space. I've been talking to him about the SAFE Network whenever I see him and he's been studying it on his own.
Joel and I have decided to prepare a presentation about the economic principles behind Safecoin.
Topics
The presentation will be divided in 3 parts:
-
The purpose of the SAFE Network
-
The role of Safecoin in the SAFE Network
-
Advantages and use cases of Safecoin
Here are some of the resources that we've used to prepare this presentation:
• Safecoin: The Decentralised Network Token (http://maidsafe.net/docs/Safecoin.pdf)
• The Economics of Safecoin (http://blog.maidsafe.net/2014/05/14/the-economics-of-safecoin/)
• Consensus Without a Blockchain (http://blog.maidsafe.net/2015/01/29/consensus-without-a-blockchain/)
• Keeping Safecoin Decentralised (http://blog.maidsafe.net/2015/02/06/keeping-safecoin-decentralised/)
• Safecoin, why it’s safe and what it means for us all (http://metaquestions.me/2014/04/12/safecoin-why-its-safe-and-what-it-means-for-us-all/)
• Data Is The Most Valuable Commodity On Earth (http://subprint.com/blog/data-is-the-most-valuable-commodity-on-earth)
In preparation for this presentation, we also interviewed Daniel Dabek, CTO of Infinity Algorithms (http://www.infinityalgorithms.com/) (Daniel is currently working on a decentralized exchange (e.g. safecoin/bitcoin) on the SAFE Network) and Nick Lambert, COO of MaidSafe (http://maidsafe.net/).
