Women About in NYC

Welcome to Women About!  We are a friendly, fun-loving lesbian community that organizes social, cultural, and outdoor activities for lesbians.
We started out hiking, biking, skiing, canoeing & camping.  Now we also go to plays, restaurants, concerts, museums, shows, dances, and jazz clubs. Every now and then we throw in an "I've always wanted to try that" or a "huh - I never knew that existed!" type of event as well.
Everything is always capped off with great food, maybe a cocktail or two, and engaging conversation over brunch or dinner.  We'd love you to join us!  If there is anything that you'd like to do, tell us here, and you'll find women to join you.

Beginning in 2025, we will have limited tolerance for NO-SHOWs. If you aren't coming, please update your RSVP. If you are delayed, put a note on the Meetup event or contact the host. If you are a NO-SHOW (you RSVP'd but don't show up), you will be removed from this Meetup.

Beginning in Summer 2026, you must post a face-only picture of yourself to join the Women About Meetup group. It's a matter of trust. Posting a picture of a butterfly, a puppy, a tree, etc. gives people a sense that you are trying to hide something. It's also more convenient if people, including me as the host, can connect your face with your name. Full-body pictures aren't easily visible on Meetup, and you'll be removed from this Meetup on 9/1/26.
