What do you think the publishing industry will look like 10 years from now?

Printed books will become luxury items. The difference between books, articles, serials, periodicals will fade. Books, music, video, etc., will become difficult to distinguish. The industry will become first more fragmented and then will re-unite on some key product offers.

I am working on automated solutions to publish ebooks from XML sources. I have been working on indexes for electronic publications, specifically "Topic Maps", that can be applied on ebooks as well.
