Miss July, Holly Dolly; passed away today, April 3 at about 5:00 pm.

She had a successful dental procedure and was alert and safe at 3:00 pm. I was instructed to pick her up at 5:00 - 5:30 pm and I arrived at 5:05 pm to take both girls home (Holly and Nina had their dentals together.) I was escorted into a waiting room expecting the news about the big vet bill but was greeted a few minutes later by the veterinarian doctor instead.

The doctor told me that Holly had just died; literally while I was waiting to pick her up. She explained that Holly started to breathe heavily and they tried everything to revive her. When I requested to see her; she still had an oxygen mask on her tiny face.

No one knows why or how she succumbed; but I suspect that the horrors of her puppy mill life; giving birth to as many litters as her body would provide to the millers; just couldn't take it. Her spirit was as strong as any Yorkshire terrier I have every known and the love she received and gave back in return will forever be in my heart.

My heart is broken,

I am so very sorry, Dona. I know how difficult this must be for you, but I am thankful that Holly found happiness at last with you and that she touched your life (and the lives of many others) so deeply.

Donna, I am so sorry for your loss of precious Holly. Even though you were together only a short time, both of your lives are better for having found each other. You will always have the beautiful memories of her and the memory of knowing that you gave her happiness, security and love that she much deserved. Amy

Dona,

Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. I had the pleasure to meet Miss Holly at the Novi Expo and she immediately won my heart. I am so very sorry to hear this and feel your pain. I know however that she is now at the Rainbow Bridge where she is in paradise where no pain and suffuring exist. You provided a wonderful life to Holly and showed her the best she could have. Holly is now in a safe place and will always be remembered by all of us that touched our lives.

Truthfully,

Thank you to everyone that sent emails and well wishes concerning Holly Dolly. I returned to the vet clinic on Friday, April 10 with Nina for her post-op check up. Nina is doing well, but it is obvious that she is grieving for her buddy, Holly. They were very bonded.

I also provided the doctor with a list of questions that I needed answered about Holly's treatment while in their care. The list was given to me from the rescue group that fostered Holly for 13 months before she was adopted by us. The doctor promised to email the results in a week; I will share those results with the group.

Thank you again for keeping me in your thoughts.
