Python, dtrace, and you -- PyHou Houston Python June Meetup
Details
Mark Allen discusses Python, dtrace, and You: Did you know that Python is a dtrace provider? Wait, backup. Did you know that dtrace is a dynamic and safe tool to probing all kinds of complex behaviors in running computer systems? Using dtrace on python applications can give you a lot of great information about bottlenecks, performance issues and details that you would never otherwise get. Learn how python and dtrace interface together. (This is an "intermediate" level talk).
The SciPy 2013 conference (http://conference.scipy.org/scipy2013/) -- scientific computing with Python-- is happening in Austin, TX, June 24-29. Registration is almost full.
The PyTexas 2013 conference (http://www.pytexas.org/2013/) is approaching... August 16-18, in College Station, TX. Speakers and volunteers are still needed -- submit your talks soon! PyTexas is a short day-trip away from Houston, and an excellent value with excellent presentations! (Registration is not yet open)
Our meetup is located at the Stag's Head Pub, near Richmond and Shepherd. Please enjoy their menu and drink offerings, so they continue to enjoy hosting us! Lastly, please RSVP (even if you're a "Maybe"!) to assist us with capacity planning.
Share your Lightning Talks! A "lightning talk" is a quick mini-presentation (5 minutes maximum) on any Python topic you'd like. We'll save time for 2-3 of these each month: to save a spot, post a comment with your talk's title/topic. Beginner topics are always welcome!
Presentations Wanted: If you'd like to share a topic with the group at an upcoming, let's talk!
