Talk #1: The Mighty Dictionary — Brandon Craig Rhodes performs a first draft of the same 25-minute talk that he will be giving at PyCon in February! Come learn about what is perhaps the most famous and capable of Python data structures, and about the internals that dictate how it behaves. Also, you will have the opportunity to ask the tough questions and make the crucial objections that will help hone the talk into something even better by the time PyCon rolls around!

Lightning Talk #1: www.voicify.me: Python, Django, and the Google App Engine working together — Michael Potter will discuss a fun project that he got involved with at the Startup Weekend Atlanta.

Lightning Talk #2: Bioinformatics: The Fish Metabolic Network — Shuzhao Li talks about using Python in biocomputation for identifying and charting metabolic pathways in fish.

Lightning Talk #3: Julep: A WSGI server — Johnny Healey talks about one of his projects

Lightning Talks #4–#n: Lightning Talk Spree! — What have Python Atlantans been doing with Python this year? What have they learned? What have they found that Python lacks, that they want to find under their Christmas tree? Come share about what you have been doing and learning, and help us end the year right with a community-oriented batch of friendly 5-minute and 10-minute talks and discussions.

After an optional 6pm dinner at Figo Pasta at the corner of Howell Mill Road and Huff Road, we will meet as usual in the spacious and comfortable auditorium of the GTRI Food Processing Building at 7:30pm for our monthly meeting. Expect discussion, problem solving, and talks that introduce aspects of Python both basic (for newcomers) and arcane (to keep the experts awake).
